Privacy Policy

Introduction

WedIzi LLC (“WedIzi,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the WedIzi wedding planning platform at wedizi.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our Service. By creating an account or using WedIzi, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Account Information: When you register, we collect your full name, email address, and a securely hashed password. We never store passwords in plain text. If you register as a couple, we also collect your wedding date.

Wedding Planning Data: As you use WedIzi, you may provide:

  • Guest names, email addresses, RSVP status, and dietary restrictions
  • Budget amounts, category allocations, vendor costs, and actual spending
  • Vendor names, categories, contact information, and booking status
  • Checklist tasks and completion status
  • Uploaded files and photos
  • Messages exchanged between couples and wedding planners
  • Venue name and wedding location
  • Notification preferences and language settings

AI Interactions: When you use Anna, our AI wedding assistant, your conversation messages and wedding context are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate responses. We do not use these conversations to train AI models.

Payment Information: Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. WedIzi does not store, process, or have access to your credit card numbers, bank account details, or other financial instrument data. Stripe’s privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

Automatically Collected Data: We collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, device type, and pages visited. This data is used for security monitoring and service improvement only.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the WedIzi platform
  • Authenticate your identity and secure your account
  • Process payments through Stripe
  • Enable communication between couples and their wedding planners
  • Power the Anna AI wedding assistant with relevant context
  • Send essential service notifications (account activity, billing, security alerts)
  • Respond to your support inquiries
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.

Data Sharing with Third Parties

We share your data only with the following service providers, strictly as necessary to operate WedIzi:

  • Supabase (supabase.com) — Database hosting, user authentication, and file storage. All your wedding planning data is stored in Supabase infrastructure.
  • Stripe (stripe.com) — Secure payment processing. Stripe receives only the data necessary to process your payment. No card data is stored by WedIzi.
  • Anthropic (anthropic.com) — Powers our Anna AI assistant via the Claude API. Conversation messages and wedding context are sent to generate helpful responses.
  • Vercel (vercel.com) — Application hosting and deployment. Vercel processes web requests to deliver the WedIzi platform to your browser.

Each third-party provider is contractually obligated to protect your data and may only use it to provide their specific service to WedIzi.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers managed by Supabase with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • Password hashing using secure algorithms (passwords are never stored in plain text)
  • HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit
  • Row-level security policies on database tables
  • Authenticated API endpoints with session validation
  • Regular security reviews of our codebase and infrastructure

While we take security seriously and implement reasonable safeguards, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

Data Retention

Active Accounts: Your data is retained for as long as your account exists and is active.

Couple Accounts (View-Only Mode): When a couple’s plan expires, the account transitions to view-only mode. All data is retained indefinitely in this state, allowing you to view your information and download a PDF summary. Data is retained until you explicitly request deletion.

Planner Accounts (Subscription Lapse): If a wedding planner’s subscription lapses, the account is deactivated (not deleted). All data is retained for 90 days to allow for resubscription. After 90 days without reactivation, all account data is permanently deleted.

Account Deletion Requests: Upon receiving an account deletion request at legal@wedizi.com, all personal data and wedding planning data associated with your account will be permanently deleted within 90 days. Some data may be retained longer if required by law.

Planner-Couple Data Sharing

When a wedding planner invites a couple (or vice versa), both parties consent to sharing relevant wedding planning data between their accounts. This includes guest lists, budgets, checklists, vendor information, files, and messages. Either party may terminate this shared access by removing the connection, at which point the planner will no longer have access to the couple’s data.

Cookies and Session Data

WedIzi uses a minimal set of cookies:

  • Authentication session cookies — Essential for keeping you logged in. These cannot be disabled while using the platform.
  • User preference cookies — Store your language preference and notification settings via localStorage.
  • Stripe payment cookies — Set temporarily during the checkout process for payment security.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. For more details, see our Cookie Policy.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data — You can view all data stored in your account directly through the WedIzi dashboard.
  • Correct your data — You can update your account information, guest lists, budget, and all other data at any time through the platform.
  • Delete your data — You may request complete account and data deletion by emailing legal@wedizi.com. Deletion will be completed within 90 days.
  • Export your data — Couple accounts in view-only mode can download a comprehensive PDF summary of all their wedding planning data.
  • Restrict processing — You may contact us to request restrictions on how we process your data.

GDPR Compliance (EU Users)

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • The right to data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • The right to object to processing of your personal data
  • The right to withdraw consent at any time
  • The right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority

Our legal basis for processing your data is: (a) performance of a contract (providing the WedIzi service), (b) your consent (AI assistant interactions), and (c) legitimate interests (security, service improvement).

CCPA Compliance (California Users)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides you with additional rights:

  • The right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose
  • The right to request deletion of your personal information
  • The right to opt out of the sale of personal information — WedIzi does not sell personal information
  • The right to non-discrimination for exercising your CCPA rights

Children's Privacy

WedIzi is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a user under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us at legal@wedizi.com.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes by sending an email to the address associated with your account at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of WedIzi after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
